One AutoCAD will no longer be separated into distinct programs (like AutoCAD Architectural, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical etc.), which have separate pricing and licensing. All vertical products except Civil 3D are already included in one AutoCAD. An AutoCAD subscription will now allow you to use any of the vertical products as well as older versions of these products.
Note for Civil 3D: Although AutoCAD Civil 3D is an AutoCAD product, it is disconnected from the One AutoCAD package and will be renamed to Autodesk Civil 3D in its next release.
Here is the complete list of vertical products (now called tools) included in the One AutoCAD subscription:
Note: If you already use one of these programs, you can migrate to the new One AutoCAD and have access to all the tools included in it.
When you subscribe to the new AutoCAD, you get access to tools and functionality that help you work faster and more efficiently than ever.
Design faster with the tools developed for the specific specialty that allow you:
Set of Architectural Tools
Accelerate architectural drawing and documenting with building characteristics and more than 8,000 intelligent architectural features. Automate the creation of floor plans, sections, facades, and more.
Set of mechanical tools
Accelerate the design of your product with specialized engineering features and more than 700,000 intelligent production parts, features and symbols. Automate tasks such as creating machine components and bills of materials.
Increase productivity in designing and documenting electrical control systems with specialized functions and over 65,000 intelligent electrical symbols. Accelerate the design of panels, schematic diagrams, and more.
Toolset for building systems
Effective drafting, design and documentation of building systems with specialized engineering functionalities and more than 10 500 intelligent mechanical, electrical and plumbing objects. Easily design piping, power lines and building system circuits.
Toolset for plant design
Create P & ID efficient and integrate them into 3D plant models using specialized engineering features. Quickly create the location of plant elements, schematic diagrams, and more.
3D mapping toolset
Improve planning and design by integrating GIS and CAD data. Manage spatial data more easily with standard data charts, automated business workflows, and reporting templates.
Tools for working with raster images
Convert raster images to DWG objects with raster-to-vector tools. Easily edit and clean raster images as you transform them into vector drawings in the familiar AutoCAD environment.
Drawing compare tool
This tool is similar to the AutoCAD Architecture comparison feature, but with several additional options for crossing the regions with changes to both the main drawings and the xrefs. This feature is not entirely new. Rather, it is an enhancement of the existing DWG comparison tool, with the useful cloud revision tagging functionality to highlight the changes for additional visual confirmation.
Enhancements to shared design views
They are designed for AutoCAD users who want to share drawing views through a web based interface without actually sending DWG or PDF files. Created by AutoCAD, shared views are sent as a link to anyone, and can be viewed and commented through a web browser without installing any special software. Any comments saved in the shared view can be returned to the AutoCAD application by the original author.
AutoCAD web and mobile applications
These are additional tools that make editing DWG easier through web browsers and mobile devices.
Performance improvements for 2D graphics
Functions that typically require redrawing or regeneration, such as drawing, scaling, moving, layer properties, or displaying raster / PDF file overlays, now work up to two times faster.
Updated icons compatible with 4K monitors
Images of menu icons, ribbon interface (ribbon) and toolbars automatically recognize and refresh when using a 4K monitor.
So the new features in AutoCAD 2019 are actually quite limited and are more focused on collaborative work and network interaction than CAD-oriented. While the increase in speed with 2D graphics will be welcomed by users with large drawings and 4K monitors, the other changes will be appreciated mostly by those who collaborate with web / mobile applications.
AutoCAD Subscription Cost Rises
Instead of the subscription price of €1,470 per year, which applies to previous versions, the AutoCAD subscription price will be €1715 - 17% increase.
If you have subscription to individual vertical products based on AutoCAD, you will not automatically be moved to One AutoCAD.
If you own perpetual AutoCAD Maintenance Plan licenses, you will not have access to the new One AutoCAD package and you will have to subscribe to take advantage of it.
