Smart centerlines and center marks
It's easy to create and edit centerlines and center marks. When you move associated objects, the centerlines and center marks automatically move with your object.
Resizable dialog boxes
Many dialog boxes have been made larger. You can resize other dialog boxes, and AutoCAD will remember your last setting. View more information with less scrolling, and make edits in dialog boxes more comfortably.
Automatically create appropriate measurements based on your drawing context. Pass the cursor over selected objects to get a preview of the dimension—before you create it.

Create revision clouds with more flexibility and modify them with ease. Draw revision bubbles around new changes in a drawing to quickly identify your updates. Whether your revision cloud is rectangular, polygonal, or freehand, it's now easier to edit its size and shape with a grip.
Stunning Visual Experience
See the details in your designs more clearly with visual enhancements such as Line Fading. Readability is now enhanced with true curves instead of line segments. Minimize the need to undo an operation by using Command Preview, which lets you see the results of a command before you commit to it. Move and copy large selection sets more easily.
(Video: 1:28 min.)
Orient your work more precisely with the point cloud. Maneuver between horizontal and vertical planes more quickly with Dynamic UCS. Snap to edges, intersections, corners, and centerlines to quickly create geometry using point cloud object snaps.

Surface Curve Extraction tool
Extract isoline curves through a specified point on a surface or face of a solid to determine the contour lines of any shape. The tool displays a preview of the resulting spline before you pick the point. You can specify the direction of the isolines, either in the U or V direction.

Context-sensitive PressPull tool
Extrude and offset curves, creating surfaces and solids. Use the Multiple option to select multiple objects within a single PressPull operation. You are no longer limited to clicking inside a bounded area: Now you can select 2D and 3D curves for a quick and easy PressPull operation.

3D free-form design tools
Generate design ideas in almost any form imaginable with AutoCAD design features. Push/pull faces, edges, and vertices to model complex shapes and add smooth surfaces. Solid, mesh, and surface modeling give you flexibility and control when designing in 3D. The navigation bar includes frequently used tools such as steering wheels, view cube, and show motion, as well as pan, zoom, and orbit.
(Video: 2:04 min.)
Analyze the continuity, curvature, and draft of 3D solids and surfaces. The Zebra analysis projects stripes onto a 3D model to analyze surface continuity. The stripes display continuously only across tangent surfaces.

Coordination model (enhanced)
Attach and view Navisworks and BIM 360 Glue models directly inside AutoCAD software. New functionality lets you to snap to precise locations on an attached coordination model using the standard 2D endpoint and center object snaps.
AutoCAD 360 Pro mobile app
AutoCAD 360 Pro is now included with your subscription. The app lets you take the power of AutoCAD wherever you go:
PDFs have been added to the Import File formats. Import the geometry, TrueType text, and raster images from a PDF file or underlay them into your drawing as AutoCAD objects.
3D printing (enhanced)
You have several options for 3D printing: You can send your 3D models to an external 3D print service. Or, install the Print Studio tool and either connect to a 3D printer or create a print file for later.
Use the design feed on an intranet, Internet, or cloud connection. The design and the conversation happen in the same place, but when it's time to send your final drawing, you have a choice. You can keep the comments intact, or strip them using built-in tools in the eTransmit and File Save workflows.

Connected design solutions
Integrate your AutoCAD workflow across connected desktop, cloud, and mobile solutions. Open and edit AutoCAD designs in AutoCAD LT drafting software. View, create, edit, and share AutoCAD drawings on a mobile device or web browser via the AutoCAD 360 mobile and web app. AutoCAD 360 supports iOS and Android devices and works with any Internet-connected computer.
(Video: 2:32 min.)
Confidently share CAD files with TrustedDWG technology: It helps ensure that all the elements in your drawings, and the relationship between those elements, are maintained. All AutoCAD products use this technology to store and share design and documentation files.
(Video: 2:19 min.)
Use Autodesk cloud-based services to synchronize your files and custom settings. Sync drawings with your online account directly from within AutoCAD software.
(Video: 1:26 min.)
Inventor file import
Save time by importing models from Inventor 3D CAD software directly into the AutoCAD model space environment.
(Video: 2:17 min.)
Migration tools (enhanced)
Migrate your custom settings and files with ease from previous releases. Your settings are auto-detected, and you choose which ones to migrate.
Autodesk desktop app
Get alerts on software updates without disrupting your workflow. Tutorials help you get the most out of the new features. Build skills with product-specific tips, content libraries, and more.
Customize your software with Exchange Apps, which are Autodesk-approved extensions. The Exchange Apps marketplace includes general productivity tools, drawing content, and applications for specific disciplines. All apps have been extensively tested and are easy to download and install.
Customization and support file sync
Easily share your AutoCAD customization preferences and support files, and access them on multiple machines. Control the type of information you want to sync, including option settings, customization files, printer support files, custom hatch patterns, tool palettes, and drawing template files. Sync custom fonts, shapes, and linetypes; they will become available the next time you start AutoCAD.
(Video: 2:06 min.)
Customizable and expandable ribbon UI
Customize and expand the user interface to suit your needs and meet your company’s standards.
Autodesk Developer Network training and support helps you integrate your AutoCAD plug-in or the latest release of AutoCAD software into your workflow.
XREF path management
You can now map XREF file paths from your Mac to Windows machines, including networked servers.
(Video: 1:54 min.)
Add flexibility and intelligence to your block references. You can now insert a block that can change shape, size, or configuration instead of having to insert numerous static blocks. For example, instead of creating multiple interior door blocks of different sizes, you can now create one resizable door block.
(Video: 1:42 min.)
Create a live link between an Excel spreadsheet and an AutoCAD table in your drawing. Whether you update the spreadsheet from an external file or from the table, the data link feature updates both sources simultaneously.
Layer state manager
Save your layer settings as layer states, and share them with others. Layer states can save information like color or linetype, including whether a layer is turned off, frozen, or locked. Use the Layer State Manager dialog box to create and manage sets of layer settings.
